Library Card Information

Your Library Card

Allendale Township Library cards are available at no cost to Allendale Township residents. We gladly welcome young readers and pre-readers, ages 6 and up, accompanied by a parent or guardian, to also apply for a library card.


Guidelines:

Applicants must present a valid Michigan driver's license or valid State of Michigan ID with their current address.

College students must present a valid driver's license AND proof of local residence.

Temporary cards will be issued to those whose residence is outside of
Allendale Township but within the service area of the Lakeland Library Cooperative.

Children under 18 may obtain a card but must have a parent or guardian
with an ID present to receive a card.

The first library card issues is free. Replacement cards are $2.00.
Please notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen!


Where You Can Use an Allendale Library Card

Lakeland Library Cooperative Libraries

The Allendale Township Library is a member of the Lakeland Library Cooperative, a group of 75+ libraries in West Michigan. Your card allows
you to borrow materials from any of these libraries either by visiting the
library or by having materials sent to the Allendale Library. For a list of Cooperative libraries, please see the back of your library card or visit the LLC website.

Michicard Libraries

The Allendale Library is a participating library in the Michicard program which allows you to get materials form over 250 other public and academic libraries throughout the State of Michigan. Borrowing Information

Most materials circulation for three weeks with the exception of videos, DVDs, and magazines which circulate for one week. The Interlibrary Loan program allows you to borrow materials from any of the other Lakeland Library Cooperative libraries. There is a charge of $1.00 for any audio-visual materials that are borrowed from other libraries and borrowed materials may be subject to the lending library's due dates, fines, or fees. These requests are usually filled within 3-7 business days.
