Signing up for a Library Card

Allendale & Tallmadge Residents
Patrons living in Allendale or Tallmadge Townships may apply for an Allendale Library card at any time for no charge. Applicants must present a valid picture ID (Michigan Driver's license or Michigan ID). If the address does not match the applicant's current residence, they must show proof of residence (this can be in the form of an utility bill, lease agreement, or U.S. Postal Service change of address form). Patrons are responsible for notifying the library in the event of a change of name, address, or phone number.
Children 6 years and older may obtain a library card if a parent or legal guardian presents a valid driver's license or state ID and co-signs the registration thereby agreeing to assume responsibility for all materials borrowed on that card.
College Students & Temporary Residents
Students and temporary residents may obtain Allendale Library cards. Applicants must present a valid picture ID (Michigan Driver's license or Michigan ID). If the address does not match the applicant's current residence, they must show proof of residence (this can be in the form of an utility bill, lease agreement, or U.S. Postal Service change of address form).
Lost, Forgotten, & Stolen Cards
Library users must present a valid card from a Lakeland Library Cooperative library for check out of all library materials. Patrons may also check out materials by showing other valid means of identification (driver's license or state ID).
Patrons are responsible for notifying the library immediately if their card is lost or stolen. Replacement cards can be purchased for $2.00 at the Circulation Desk.
