With your online account you may place holds in the Lakenet Catalog (Lakeland libraries), request books in the Melcat Catalog (statewide), renew items, access your reading history, and pay overdue fees online.

Placing Holds in Lakenet

Holds may be placed on print materials in the Lakenet catalog.  Holds may not be placed on non-print materials such as CDs, DVDs, Audiobooks, etc. Items that necessitate delivery from another Lakeland Library will take approximately 1-2 weeks for arrival.  To place a hold:

Step 1.  In the online catalog, locate the item you wish to request and click on "Place a Hold".

Step 2.  Enter your library card barcode and PIN # in the spaces provided.  Click on "Submit".  Note: Your PIN # is typically the last 4 digits of your phone number.  If that does not work, please contact the library for assistance.Placing a Hold step 2

Step 3.  Library Staff will notify you when your hold is available.  If your hold was not successful, please contact the library for assistance.  In some cases, an expired card or an overdue fee may prevent a hold from being placed.

"Everyone knows that a man can always marry even if he reaches 102, is penniless, and has all his faculties gone. There is always some woman willing to take a chance on him. (from the Complete Book of Etiquette, 1952)"
